What are the prerequisites to register for the Recertification course?
1. You must be the holder of a current Standard First Aid + CPR Level C/AED certification certificate issued by the Canadian Red Cross (no other agency) Certificates from St. John Ambulance, Lifesaving Society or other, will not be accepted. You will need to show your current certificate at the beginning of the course.
2. To attend a recertification course, your certificate must not be expired by one day or more, there is no grace period.
3. You can renew your Standard First Aid certificate once. If you have already renewed your Standard First Aid certificate once, you will need to earn a new certificate. You can attend the same date(s) as above, however, you will need to complete an 8-hour online component prior to the date(s).
If my current certificate is not issued by the Canadian Red Cross, can I register for the Recertification?
No, you can only take a Recertification course, if your current certificate was issued from the Canadian Red Cross. If your current certificate was issued from another organization, please register for the Standard First Aid + CPR C/AED Blended Learning - NOT the Recertification.
Can I register for a Recertification course if my current certificate is expired?
No, if your current certificate is expired by one day or more, you must take a full Certification course. There is no grace period. If your certificate is expired, please register for the Standard First Aid + CPR C/AED Blended Learning - NOT the Recertification.
If I took the recertification the last time, can I recertify again?
No, you can renew your Standard First Aid certificate once. If you have already renewed your Standard First Aid the last time, you will need to earn a new certificate. If so, please register for the Standard First Aid + CPR C/AED Blended Learning - NOT the Recertification.

What is the certification period?
3-year Canadian Red Cross valid certification recognized in the workplace (Recertification session is required every 3 years)
Digital certificate issued upon successful completion.
What additional certifications are there?
This training includes AED (Automated External Defibrillation) certification
What is the minimum passing grade?
Completion Criteria
• Demonstrate a working competency in all required skills.
• Achieve a minimum score of 75% on a written, closed-book knowledge evaluation
completed independently.
• Attend and actively participate in 100% of the course.
• Must adhere to the Fundamental Principles of the Red Cross.
